DLS Short of the Month / BOOBS World Premiere!

The Dirty Little Short of the Month for February/March (OK we're a little behind
over here) is Dicko Mather's THE ADVENTURES OF SAW BOY BUCK and the sequel THE
NEW ADVENTURES OF SAW BOY BUCK. Dicko Mather is a genius. Just in case you
didn't know already. We met him at the now-defunct New York Underground Film
Festival and have been huge fans ever since. Check out SAW BOY at

left-side).

Necessary Delays

So it seems like we need a 2-3 year lead time here at Dirty Little Shorts. This might have something to do with our budget which ranges from $0.01 to $0.27, depending on how many hits we get on Blip.tv in any given year. 52 TAKES OF THE SAME THING, THEN BOOBS took about 2 1/2 years to finish and now ASK JENNA LEIGH, our first web series, is taking about the same amount of time. At least it seems that way. We shot four episodes in 2 days, had picture locked on all of them within 2 months, then sound design took about a month and then the music...well...the music...that took a little longer...We work with the same composer most of the time (Steve Pacey aka Spot aka DNJ aka Dick-N-Jayne aka Spot Dawg) and we love him. But so do other people. Much to our dismay. During the time he committed to doing the music for ASK JENNA LEIGH, he also got offered a job doing a CBS show and a Cheech & Chong project and writing a technical book about the audio software he uses. Yeah, popular guy. And I guarantee that every other job paid him more money than we did. Which means we here at Dirty Little Shorts (no matter how cool we are) go to the bottom of the priority list.

So this is, once again, the glamorous life of filmmaking here at Dirty Little Shorts. I would imagine that the perception from the outside is that we just continually slap things together in a short period of time and then churn them out to the festivals or throw them up online. Not true, my Dirty friends! It just seems that way when projects magically finish at the same time like BOOBS and ASK JENNA LEIGH.

Big shout out to our one follower: Orlando. Yay! You rock, Orlando.
